We made a turtle for Rakahanga School to use as their float in the Constitution Day celebrations on Rarotonga.
It started with wire & paper ~ and loads of glue ~ then paint!
We had a very enthusiastic team

It got better & better. We made it anatomically correct Well, as best we could with our materials!
We then made a GIANT FONU that the island choir would sit beneath
on a lorry during the procession

Below: Planning the scutes: a real green turtle carapace is by V2
The basic head shape~it was 2 metres long!
The giant fonu was given to Rakahanga Community: it would be
assembled & painted at Rarotonga
We wish you success in the procession
and competitions
